What's in a name? Korban Elias revealed...

I thought that since many of you have seen pictures of our little man, it would be good to tell you a little about why we named him what we did.
His first name, KORBAN, comes from the New Testament of the Bible. It is found in Mark 7:11. The word means "Gift Devoted to God." We decided to name him this because we like the sound of it, true enough, but also because we feel like having kids is a gift. We are dedicated, as his parents, to raising Korban in a household devoted to God. It is our prayer that he will one day choose this faith as well and be, in his own right, devoted to God.
His middle name, ELIAS, is the greek form of Elijah. Again, we chose the name because the sound pleased us, but the meaning also holds much weight. Elijah was a prophet in the Old Testament scriptures and is an example of faithfulness to the Lord. Elias means, "the Lord is God."
Choosing a name for your child is difficult business. Having said that, we believe that no matter what name he bears that he is in God's hands and we find peace knowing that.
So, without any further disclaimers, we present (or already have presented) Korban Elias Ashley into this great wide world.
